Smart City Federated Test bed platform and Virtual Living Lab Environment
The project aims to establish technology platform and pilot for Smart City Federated Test bed and Virtual Living Lab Environment The open architecture and distributed structure of the Smart City Federated Test bed and Living Lab (FTLL) will provide new opportunities for European Cities and citizens from different regions to participate online in eServices development and validation. The FTLL scalable open architecture will provide seamless integration of new project partners, user groups, Living Labs and experimental facilities. The FTLL will provide new opportunities for :
Industry and SMEs to demonstrate and to test new eServices, application and systems (interoperability, operational feasibility, user acceptance)
Cities and public authorities to get familiar with and to participate in early stage design of new products and services. Will stimulate innovation and regional development.
Academia and Research organizations, Living Labs to have access and to be part of virtual distributed experimental platform, to collect new research data and to develop new competences and research capacities
Citizens to participate in early stage service development that will empower their participation in Smart Cities design and will strengthen their confidence in Smart Cities technologies and services. Will improve services quality and well-being of population.
International organizations to have access to internationally distributed experimental platform that could stimulate their activities and will provide information for developing regulatory and policies recommendations within the scope of their activities.
The internet based FTLL could use different data sources such as Open Data, IoT, crowd sensing and social media information and could connect different types of networks (3,4,5G, WLAN, SatComm) and test beds facilities (Fig1.). The project will develop eServices validation and testing software for pilot to be used by participating Living Labs and project partners.
The project focuses on eServices and applications that have high societal importance for citizens, authorities and public service providers and could be installed on desktop and smart phones platforms. The project considers integrated situation awareness, monitoring and decision support applications in the areas of eHealth and Telemedicine, intelligent transport, home care.
